Not too many buttons but just enough. It is smooth and performs great. This is my second one of these. The first lasted over 2yrs and only failed because I spilled paint on it. My only gripe about about the one I have now is that the scroll wheel feels a little loose, but it doesn't affect the performance at all.
It's not the highest DPI mouse, or have the most programmable buttons, but fills my needs perfectly. All the glowing red makes it look cool at night. I've weighted mine down with the included weights, but I don't use the weighted bar for the cord.
If you have small hands this might not be the mouse for you. I have big hands, and have had wrist problems from keyboards and mice that were designed as one size fits all.
This works good for gaming, web browsing, whatever. Just wish it cost less.
