Game is a lot easier than I remember. Side Quest. Chapter 7 Asteroid help? It's steady, accurate, has a nice rate of fire, decent width of fire and gives you precise control. It's the jack of all trades where as the others are good for specific situations. So, pull your Plasma Cutter out and look for the holographic start button in the middle of the barrier of the shooting range. Activate the minigame and then move as far to the right side as you can and make sure you're against the barrier.
That's where you want Isaac. What this does is gives you a clean line of fire. The in-game follow-camera or chase-camera, which ever you want to call it adjusts closer to Isaac because you're in a corner.
It's almost like firing in first-person mode. Try to keep your target reticule aimed slightly right of where the middle target pops up. Your target reticule will be a bit cockeyed, and it's a bit easier to target to the extreme left than it is the extreme right and aiming slightly right of center compensates for this so panning time is roughly equal.
On stage 5, the targets move very fast, so you're not going to get your aim to middle. The point of me pointing this out is that is where you want to start moving your reticule as soon as you hit a target.
On stage 5, it took me 4 tries to get perfect using this method. The only issues I had was when I had a target in front left and the next one was back right. If this happens to you, don't worry if you don't get it because the targets pop up randomly.
The next round you may not have to from one extreme to the other. Practice a few times all the way through stage 5 even if you miss a target. It doesn't take much longer to just finish the round than it does to back away to reset the minigame. So just stick it out and good luck. Hope this helps save someone a headache.
